GABRIEL MARANO

SVP, Drama Programming & Development

Gabriel Marano was named Senior Vice President, Drama Programming & Development, of Fox Broadcasting Company (FOX) in June 2017. In this role, he is responsible for supervising the development and production of new and returning scripted series for the network.

Prior to joining FOX, Marano was Senior Vice President of Drama Programming for A&E, where he oversaw the network’s scripted series development and production. A&E series Marano was involved with include Bates Motel, Longmire, The Glades, Damienand The Returned, among others. He joined A&E in 2013 as Vice President of Drama Programming and was promoted to Senior Vice President two years later.

Before A&E, Marano spent ten years with Fox Television Studios (now Fox 21 Television Studios), first joining the company in 2003 as an assistant before climbing the ranks to Vice President of Scripted Programming. While there, he developed and oversaw current on USA’s Burn Notice and Maron for IFC and also worked on FX’s critically-acclaimed drama The Americans and The Killing for AMC and Netflix. From 1997 to 2002, he worked in production on numerous independent features, including Whit Stillman’s The Last Days of Disco, David Mamet’s The Spanish Prisoner, Mad Cityand the documentary Give a Damn Again.

Marano is a graduate of Columbia University, where he received a Bachelor of Arts in Italian Literature.
