TANA NUGENT JAMIESON | Senior Vice President, A+E Studios

Tana Nugent Jamieson was named Senior Vice President of A+E Studios, the in-house production arm of the award-winning global media company A+E Networks, in 2014. In this role, she develops original scripted drama programming for the A+E Networks portfolio, including Lifetime and HISTORY, as well as for external studios.

Jamieson was integral to the development of the critically-acclaimed, Emmy-nominated limited event series “Roots,” for HISTORY. She also shepherded the development of three original series for HISTORY, the hit series “Six,” which was renewed for a second season and the upcoming drama series “Knightfall” from Executive Producer Jeremy Renner, as well as the recently announced “Blue Book,” from Executive Producer Robert Zemeckis. For Lifetime, she spearheaded the new drama series “American Princess” from Jenji Kohan and Jamie Denbo, which was recently ordered straight to series. She also is responsible for the Studios overall deals with top-tier talent such as Rachel Winter and Meryl Poster.

Before joining A+E Studios, Jamieson was Senior Vice President, Drama Programming, at A&E Network. There, she oversaw the network’s West Coast team responsible for the development and production of all original scripted dramatic series, as well as limited series, movies and miniseries. Among the series Jamieson oversaw are the development of A&E’s hit series “Bates Motel,” starring Vera Farmiga and Freddie Highmore, from executive producers Carlton Cuse (“Lost”) and Kerry Ehrin (“Friday Night Lights”). “Bates Motel” premiered in March 2013 and earned Vera Farmiga an Emmy® Award nomination for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series. She also oversaw “The Returned,” based on the French series “Les Revenants,” from executive producers Carlton Cuse and Raelle Tucker (“True Blood”).

When Jamieson first joined A&E in 2006, she spearheaded the network’s first original scripted series development in more than six years, including “The Cleaner,” starring Benjamin Bratt, and “The Beast,” with Patrick Swayze. In July 2010, she launched “The Glades,” which ran for four seasons, and in 2011, she premiered “Breakout Kings,” from the creators of “Prison Break." Her next series, “Longmire,” became 2012’s number one new show in Total Viewers in all of cable.

Jamieson also oversaw the development and production of “The Andromeda Strain,” based on the Michael Crichton best-seller and executive produced by Ridley and Tony Scott, which garnered seven Emmy nominations, including Outstanding Miniseries and became cable’s number one miniseries of 2008. Additionally, Jamieson launched Stephen King’s “Bag of Bones,” a four-hour epic mini-series thrill-ride based on the New York Times number one best-selling novel, and starring Pierce Brosnan. She also developed and oversaw the production of the miniseries “Coma,” a modern day retelling of the novel by Robin Cook and film by Michael Crichton, featuring Richard Dreyfuss, Ellen Burstyn, Geena Davis and James Woods.

Jamieson joined A&E from The WB Network, where she acted as senior programming executive for such drama franchises as “Everwood,” “Summerland,” “Related,” “Just Legal,” “Jack & Bobby” and “Bedford Diaries.” She also created and oversaw The WB’s first original movie division, where she was responsible for a number of highly acclaimed events such as “Samantha: An American Girl Holiday,” starring Mia Farrow, and “Felicity,” with Marcia Gay Harden.

Prior to The WB, Jamieson was Vice President for Original Movies at TBS and an Executive Producer for NBC Studios. She is a graduate of The University of Arizona and studied at The University of Madrid and Queen’s College in London.
