Whether working in film or television, Brian Grazer is a problem-solver known for bringing memorable stories to life with his long-time creative partner, Ron Howard, and fueling successful projects like “Arrested Development,” “Friday Night Lights,” “24,” and “Parenthood.”

 

The space race, World War II, history, and family are strong themes among many of Grazer’s films, series, and documentaries, but compelling characters and strong storytelling are the hallmarks of his work.

 

While Imagine Television has a long history with 20th Century Fox TV, Grazer and company are excited by the plethora of new markets available today. Grazer’s ability to move from film to television and back again is underscored in something he told Variety in June 2016: “The great writers and directors in TV today are really the embodiment of the great filmmakers of the 1960s, ’70s and early ’80s,” he said, citing Hal Ashby, William Friedkin and Sidney Lumet as examples. “Movies have to be very, very high concept to differentiate themselves these days. The character-driven shows on television right now are so in alignment with my tastes and interests.”

This high-energy producer is never too busy to ask for input from others or to listen to their opinions, making Grazer a popular and respected collaborator. Current series include Fox’s “Empire” and NatGeo’s limited series “Genius,” whose second season will focus on Pablo Picasso.
