#BAFTA's Rising Star Nominees Set to Spark Fierce Competition in Public Vote for Phoebe Dynevor, Ayo Edebiri, Jacob Elordi, Mia McKenna-Bruce, and Sophie Wilde






The 2024 EE Rising Star Award nominees at the BAFTA Film Awards, the only category voted by the British public, are Phoebe Dynevor, Ayo Edebiri, Jacob Elordi, Mia McKenna-Bruce, and Sophie Wilde. Announced by Stephen Graham, the nominees were chosen by a panel including Daisy Edgar-Jones, Ṣọpẹ́ Dìrísù, Himesh Patel, and other industry experts.


Voting is open at ee.co.uk/BAFTA until 16th February, with the winner announced at the ceremony on 18th February, broadcast on BBC One and iPlayer. The award, in its 19th year, honors late Mary Selway. The nominees, announced at The Savoy Hotel, London, have shown exceptional talent in film. Jury chaired by Anna Higgs included actors and industry specialists. The award highlights EE and BAFTA's commitment to emerging talent.






The 2024 EE Rising Star Award nominees at the BAFTA Film Awards showcase a diverse and talented group:

  1. Phoebe Dynevor is acclaimed for her role in the finance thriller "Fair Play" and is widely known for her portrayal in "Bridgerton." She's also set to star in the thriller "Anniversary."

  2. Ayo Edebiri, an American comedian and actress, recently starred in the satirical comedy "Bottoms" and the popular TV show "The Bear." She is also known for voicing 'Missy' in "Big Mouth."

  3. Jacob Elordi is gaining attention for his roles in the psychological thriller "Saltburn" and as Elvis Presley in "Priscilla." He's involved in upcoming projects like "The Narrow Road to The Deep North" and "Oh Canada."

  4. Mia McKenna-Bruce has been recognized for her lead role in "How to Have Sex" and her performance in the film adaptation of Jane Austen’s "Persuasion." She began gaining prominence from the TV series "The Dumping Ground."

  5. Sophie Wilde recently led in the horror movie "Talk To Me," earning high praise and is involved in upcoming films "Baby Girl" and "Boy Swallows Universe." She also featured in the series "Everything Now."

Each nominee has demonstrated remarkable talent and versatility, capturing both public and industry attention with their performances. They represent the future of film, bringing unique stories and characters to life, and showcasing the breadth of emerging talent in the industry.
