Creative Arts Emmys 2024: Big Winners include 'The Last of Us' with Wins, "Welcome to Wrexham" scores 5 and "The Bear" 3

The 75th Primetime Creative Arts Emmy Awards in 2024 showcased an array of talent and remarkable achievements in television. One of the standout shows was "The Last of Us," which led the awards on the first night with eight Emmys. These included accolades for visual effects, makeup, title design, sound editing and mixing, picture editing, and guest performances by Nick Offerman and Storm Reid.


Other notable winners included "The Bear," "The White Lotus," and "Wednesday," each securing multiple awards. "Weird: The Al Yankovic Story" was recognized for its outstanding television movie and received an additional Emmy for music.

In the comedy acting categories, Sam Richardson won for "Ted Lasso" and Judith Light for "Poker Face," marking their first Primetime Emmy wins.


"Welcome to Wrexham," the documentary series produced by FX, achieved significant success at the 75th Creative Arts Emmy Awards in 2024, winning a total of five awards. These awards included Outstanding Cinematography for a Reality Program, Outstanding Unstructured Reality Program, Outstanding Directing for a Reality Program, Outstanding Editing for an Unstructured Reality Program, and Outstanding Sound Mixing for a Reality Program (Single or Multicam)​.

Ed Sheeran added an Emmy to his collection for composing the song “A Beautiful Game” with Foy Vance and Max Martin. The series "Wednesday" and "House of the Dragon" were recognized for their costume design, while "Atlanta" and "The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel" won cinematography awards.


HBO Max emerged as the leading network with 14 wins, followed by Netflix with 10, and Prime Video with six. These awards, recognizing television achievements from June 2022 through May 2023, were presented across two nights, with an edited version airing later on FXX.

The ceremonies covered a wide range of categories, including casting, choreography, cinematography, costumes, makeup, hairstyling, music, picture editing, production design, sound

editing and mixing, visual effects, and stunts.
